Solar Car Race
L&S Safety Solutions LLC is proud to announce that it will be a Sponsor in the World Solar Challenge, October 2009 for the 1800-mile World Championship Solar Car Race across Australia. The University of Michigan (“UM”) Solar Car Team will be using the PressurePro tire pressure monitoring system to protect the tires on the Solar Car as well as the support car.
“The PressurePro system will help our team prevent a costly flat,” stated Steve Hechtman, Project Manager, “by monitoring the tire pressures of our Solar Car and support vehicles as we cross the Outback”. He goes on to say, “We thank PressurePro for their support as our team hopes to bring the World Championship back to the U.S.”
University of Michigan students and their supporters share an interest in promoting alternative energy sources and developing energy-efficient technologies. The solar car is powered entirely by energy from the sun, and is a shining example of these technologies.
In July of 2010, the North American Solar Challenge race will take place in the U.S., spanning from Dallas, Texas, USA, to Calgary, Canada. The UM cars have placed as high as 3rd in the World Solar Challenge three times, and placed 1st five times in the North American Solar Challenge.
