When you drive a truck that is hauling a trailer behind it, one of the most important things to know about is that your trailer is secured. Once you know that it is secured properly, you will need to ensure that your tires are properly inflated to guarantee that your trailer does not cause a mishap later on down the road. The problem is that when driving, tires can go flat and you may not even know it until it is too late for you to do any type of correction. Then you are buying a tire rather than fixing it. However, if you know about the benefits of a PressurePro™ tire pressure monitor system, you will quickly notice that it is going to be easy to keep an eye on your tires.

One benefit of having this system is that it will alert you to any of the tires on your trailer (and towing vehicle) that could be losing pressure or going flat. Then you will not have to worry about having a sudden shift in your weight from a tire that is going flat without you being aware of it. If that sudden shift happens, then you probably know that it will be nearly impossible to control the trailer, and the truck that it is attached to will normally just follow the trailer to the ditch or other area that it is heading towards.

Another benefit of the system is that it allows you to have an accurate reading on how your tires are performing. Now you may think that this is not going to be that important, but if you see that your tires, when they warm up, are close to over-inflation and a possible blow-out, you will be able to handle that issue by draining out some of the air. However, you could also see that this could serve as a useful record for you to check the vehicle out properly each time you go out on the road (data loggers are also available).

PressurePro can alert you before the tire goes flat! Most people, once they know about the benefits of a TPMS system, will want to know where they can find it. You can find some great products and even more information by visiting www.TirePressureMonitor.com.

Everyone wants to save as much money as possible in today’s economy. That includes saving money on fuel. One way to do that is by using PressurePro’s Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) which offers drivers savings due to lower fuel usage, better handling, safety, and better braking and stability for all types and sizes of vehicles. (Under inflated tires waste over 5 million gallons of fuel every day.) The system is easy to install and doesn’t require any tools.

An important benefit of using a TPMS from PressurePro is safety. Low tire pressure is a leading cause of accidents and can cause you to skid or hydroplane more easily. The tire pressure monitor constantly monitors your tire pressure on every tire while moving and also while parked. There is also a display that shows you the tire pressure of all tires. If the pressure becomes low on any tire, the system alerts at 3 levels. The first alert occurs when tire pressures drop more than 12.5%. A second, more urgent alert occurs if tire pressures drop by more than 25%, and there is a third, variable high-pressure alert.

Having a tire pressure monitor also saves you money. Tires last longer, being properly inflated, which can also help save on gas. The Department of Transportation (“DOT”) estimates that over 2 billion gallons of fuel are wasted every year due to underinflated tires.

Keeping your tires properly inflated also helps save the environment. With consumers keeping their tires longer, there is less resources used in producing new tires. It also cuts down on used tires in landfill, which cannot be broken down and just sit there taking up space. The tire pressure monitor keeps your tires properly inflated by alerting of improper pressures, thus cutting down on the debris on the side of the road, where someone has had a blowout. Rubber particles also fill the air with particles that make it harder to breathe. TPMS also makes sure that your tires are at the correct pressure, ensuring that the tread doesn’t wear improperly. Tread separation and tire failure is the result of under inflated tires.

PressurePro has an answer for many of us who enjoy outings on two or three wheels (motorcycles/ATVs) or four or more wheels such as RVs/trucks etc. Many of us have been forced to cut down on our enjoyment as our getaways have become more and more expensive due to rising fuel and insurance costs. Now PressurePro can help you save money and fuel. It can also help cut down on excessive wear and tear, and provide you with an extra level of safety, being warned ahead of time instead of when it is too late.

PressurePro has a motorcycle tire pressure monitoring system (“TPMS”) that will accurately, simultaneously and continually monitor tire pressures on up to 6 tires (motorcycle and/or side car) from 10 to 199 psi. The system will alert visually and also with an audible alert if a tire goes below 12/5% of capacity, and again if it falls to or below 25%. The display auto adjusts for lighting conditions, has a waterproof casing, and an internal antenna for use in a variety of conditons. The display’s readout is also adjustable and can show your tire pressures in PSI, kPA or BAR values.

Installaion of the pressurePro system is easy and straightforward; they provide you with all the info you need, including videos to make your upgrade as simple as possible. A blow-out on a motorcycle can often have fatal consequences. With PressurePro’s motorcycle TPMS, you can ride with peace of mind and be assured of greater safety.

PressurePro offers the same advantages to those who enjoy the outdoors with their RV tire pressure monitoring system. It has all of the same benefits as the Motorcycle unit, but monitors up to 16 wheels (for RV and towed vehicle). The user can adjust the Monitor to track each vehicle separately: front or back, or both together. There is an additional upper alert, in addition to the two lower alerts, that is adjustable by the user; the default is set at 24 psi for an upper alert.

In addition to the safety and money saving benefits attributable to all their systems, PressurePro’s RV and Motorcycle TPM systems are “green” systems. They reduce fuel waste attributed to improper tire inflation, which amounts to millions of gallons of fuel.

ADD SAFETY, EXTEND TIRE LIFE, INCREASE FUEL EFFICIENCY, CUT DOWNTIME & GO GREEN WITH PRESSUREPRO!

Consumers can benefit from a tire pressure monitoring system(“TPMS”) in many ways. One of the major benefits includes the ability to be safer while on the road. Blow-outs can lead to accidents that can be fatal or costly, but the PressurePro monitoring system will alert the driver when a tire starts to go down which will usually avoid an eventual blowout. Vehicles also use less fuel when tires are inflated to the right pressure; under inflated tires decrease a vehicle’s average MPG by as much as 3.3%. Having a TPMS will save the driver money and time (no installation fees as it is a self-install system).

Alerts come in the form of an audible alert and also visually which shows the tire location on the Monitor, located in the dash area. There are two lower thresholds of warnings and also a variable upper alert that can alert when tires are too high in pressure.

Better stability with braking and improved handling are other great benefits when tires are properly inflated. Many people assume that they need a wheel alignment when their vehicle seems to be unsteady on the road, when in reality they may need to check their tire alignment and the condition of their tires.

The owner of a vehicle will end up having to pay lower maintenance fees which can take up a huge portion of a consumer’s budget. When tires are inflated properly, they last longer and the tread also lasts for a longer duration of time. The tire casing is also protected, warding against zipper rips which can cause blow-outs and accidents while on the road. Accidents can also mean paying larger premiums on your auto insurance due to insurance claims. Under inflated tires lead to tread separation and tire failure resulting in thousands of unnecessary accidents, injuries and deaths each year. These can be avoided by making sure that tires are properly inflated at all times.

PressurePro wireless monitors also have a great affect on the environment as the system, due to early warning signals, helps consumers to not use up the Earth’s resources so quickly. Tires can have a longer life when properly inflated without having to use valuable resources for replacing them.

Installation is quick and easy and can be done in a matter of minutes by the driver; it can take less than 15 minutes to install. The Monitor attaches to the dash area with Velcro and plugs into the cigarette lighter plug, and the Sensors replace the valve stem caps. PressurePro can easily be transferred between vehicles to accurately measure tire pressure at the touch of a button.

Well, not quite a flat tire, but we were again lucky to catch a tire going down BEFORE it went flat! We were traveling cross country to go to an RV trade show (we are Distributors for PressurePro tire pressure monitors). Since we have a TPMS in our RV, we were informed by the audible alert that we had a low-pressure tire on our trailer. By watching it on the dash-mount Monitor, we became aware that it was a very fast leak rather than a slow leak, as the pressure on the Monitor went from 32 psi to 30 to 24 to 10 psi very fast!

Fortunately, we happened to be in a small town (rather than in the middle of the desert somewhere) when we were alerted to the problem tire. AND ALMOST AT THE SAME TIME, we had an alert from another tire on the trailer as well! (We only have one spare tire, so that would have been a real original problem!)

The first tire had not one, but two nails in it; the other tire had been repaired once before and just came apart due to wearing out. But we had just travelled through an area where there would have been no help in sight for over 3 hours, so felt lucky to have actually been in a location where we could get the tires fixed (replaced the one bad tire).

We finished the trip with no other issues, and are glad to have “survived” an ordeal that could have been much more serious had we not been close to a viable place where we could resolve our tire problems.

There are many benefits to using the PressurePro system, including added safety and peace of mind, knowing your tires are correctly inflated. Properly inflated tires contribute to maximum performance due to better mileage and increased tire life. With PressurePro, one can check the tire pressure of their tires by reading the Monitor, located in the dash area, rather than checking them with a tire guage, thus saving time and inconvenience. Tire pressures can be checked while the vehicle is parked, or even while driving down the road. The driver will be able to get instant visual and audible alerts if their tires are reaching a low-pressure level. It is clear why most consumers will benefit from a tire pressure monitoring system. Fixing a tire is less costly than replacing a tire and repairing any damage caused by a flat tire.

Other benefits include lowering vehicle maintenance costs which is why monitoring tires frequently is very important. With the decreasing economy and economic recession, many consumers may not have the funds or resources to keep getting maintenance done on a regular basis. Having PressurePro and checking tires for proper inflation more frequently means that tires can last a longer time since under-inflated tires have a tendency to wear out quicker. The life of a tire, including the tread, can be increased to at least 35% if they are properly inflated, roadside repairs can be decreased drastically, and fuel savings will be significant.
Some of the systems offered include the 6 Wheel Monitors for a car/small truck, as well as the 16 Wheel (RV and towed vehicle Monitors), the 34 Wheel Monitors for 5th wheels and trucks, and the Intelligent Drop & Hook Monitors for tractor/trailers. The Drop& Hook systems monitor up to 64 wheels. Motorcycle systems are also available. High heat sensors, industrial sensors and battery exchange sensors are also some of the PressurePro products offered through L&S Safety Solutions.

Recently the Green Advocate “Southeast Green” gave recognition to tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS). Southeast Green serves as an organization working to connect communities and businesses to sustainable and green living.

Drivers and fleets of all types are beginning to understand the significant benefits TPMS provides. The increase in awareness of carbon emissions and lower fuel use, rising gas prices, the increased costs of tires and the understanding of the relationship of low tire pressure to accidents, injuries and deaths, as well as insurance costs are stimulating strong interest in maintaining proper tire pressure.

As a leader in the TPMS market, PressurePro shares why tire pressure monitoring systems can have such an impact on safety and savings during travel.

Reasons to always keep your tires properly inflated:

Vehicle Safety – Proper tire inflation greatly reduces the potential of a tire blowout that can lead to unwanted road-side emergencies, damage to vehicle, and even personal injury.

Accuracy/Reliability – Real time TPMS allows drivers to quickly respond to an audible beep and a visual alert emitted by the alarm when the tire pressure falls to dangerous levels. Aftermarket TPMS can usually detect any air leakage in seconds.

Improved Fuel Economy – The Deparment of Transportation estimates that 5 million gallons of fuel per day (over 2 billion per year) are wasted due to low tire pressure. Under-inflated tires increase the rolling resistance of vehicles and, correspondingly, decrease their fuel economy. By providing real time tire pressure readings, TPMS helps drivers maintain optimal pressure allowing increased fuel efficiency and big savings at the pumps.

Increased Tire & Tread Life – When a tire is under-inflated, more pressure is placed on the casing of the tire, causing the tread to wear more rapidly than it would if the tire were inflated to the proper pressure. TPMS provides the information needed to maximize tire and tread life.

Enhanced Vehicle Performance – Tires with low air pressures require greater stopping distances and cause deterioration in tire performance. TPMS provides the information drivers need to allow optimum performance of vehicles through greater stability, handling and braking in both wet and dry conditions.

PressurePro tire pressure monitoring systems continues to provide advancements in the market in TPMS technology. For further information, view www.TirePressureMonitor.com

For over 18 years, interest in Tire Pressure Monitoring products have grown from autos and RVs to light trucks, tractor/trailers, buses and heavy industrial equipment users. Over the last 2 years, we’ve seen interest in TPMS grow exponentially. Drivers and fleets of all types understand the significant benefits TPMS provides. The increase in media attention and market awareness, rising gas prices, the increased costs of tires and the understanding of the relationship of low tire pressure to accidents, injuries and deaths as well as insurance costs are stimulating strong interest in maintaining proper tire pressure. Comments on the importance of maintaining proper pressure to lower fuel use and carbon emissions has significantly impacted interest in TPMS. You have most likely read more than a few articles over the last couple of years highlighting benefits of keeping tires inflated. As a leader in the TPMS market, PressurePro wants to fully explain why these four simple letters, “TPMS” can have such an impact on safety and savings.

Let’s start by highlighting the most commonly talked about benefits of maintaining proper tire pressure. First and foremost is increased fuel efficiency which means significant savings each year. Politicians, environmental groups, vehicle manufacturers, insurance firms, government agencies, car care specialists and many others all highlight the importance of keeping proper air pressure in tires and the affect it has on your pocketbook so let’s look at how it does so. Tires low on pressure require additional fuel to overcome greater rolling resistance. The Department of Transportation (DOT) estimates that low tire pressure wastes over 2 BILLION gallons of fuel each year in the U.S. Overcoming this additional rolling resistance wastes fuel which means more carbon pollutants are released into the air as well. Maintaining correct tire pressure maximizes fuel use and increases fuel and vehicle efficiency, saving money and adding safety.

Another benefit of TPMS is added safety. Stories are in the news daily about accidents that are caused by low tire pressure. It is not uncommon that injuries or fatalities are the result of a blowout. In fact, some 40,000 accidents, 33,000 injuries and over 650 deaths per year are attributed to tire failure caused by low tire pressure. With low tire pressure remaining the #1 cause of tire failure, it is clear that proper tire pressure remains critical for vehicle safety. Why does low pressure cause such hazards? Underinflated tires experience added bend and flex causing sidewalls (casing) to break down allowing tread to separate. Vehicles with proper tire pressures enjoy greater stability, handling and braking efficiencies which provides added safety, and means savings on insurance (and liability costs) as well.

TPMS technology also assists in extending tire life and adding greater tire integrity. Underinflated tires cause added stress and wear on tires, shortening tire life and leading to tire damage. A tire will wear out 12% faster at just 10% under proper inflation in addition to sidewall/casing damage, breakdowns, ply separation, tire disintegration and heat buildup. When one dual tire is underinflated by only 10 psi, it literally drags the lower pressured tire 13 feet per mile shortening its life dramatically. Maintaining proper pressures provides greater casing integrity; allowing tires to be retreaded saves money.

Yet another important benefit provided by PressurePro TPMS is decreased downtime and maintenance costs. Everyone, from auto owners to large fleets, knows that downtime and maintenance on vehicles is expensive and takes the vehicle out of commission. Road calls, tow truck, new tire, rim and labor add up quickly and significantly. PressurePro monitors tires constantly allowing drivers and office dispatchers to know current tire pressures and low pressure situations before they turn into costly and dangerous problems.

PressurePro assists in “DRIVING GREEN”. Tires running low on pressure use more gas to overcome greater rolling resistance, producing added carbon pollutants. The DOT states that added fuel use resulting from low tire pressure adds 57.5 BILLION pounds of Carbon pollutants into the atmosphere each year. Prematurely worn tires add to landfill waste as well as resulting in an unnecessary use of raw resources to replace an estimated 80 million tires prematurely worn each year due to low pressure. Dangerous roadside debris (‘alligators’ from blown tires) as well as air pollutants (tire particles) caused by unnecessary flex of low pressure tires which add to air pollution and the full scope of benefits provided by TPMS makes the need for PressurePro clear. The question is, “How can we afford not to utilize TPMS?” The answer is, “We can’t”!

For over 18 years, PressureProTM has been known as a leader in TPMS and is noted for being pioneers in TPMS Technology. PressurePro has become recognized for its reliability, durability, accuracy and ease of use and PressurePro remains the only TPMS provider to design, develop and manufacture their TPMS product in the USA. PressurePro features three standard alerts that alarm drivers to low and high pressure situations – two low pressure alerts at 12.5% and 25%, and one (variable) high pressure alert that can be set by individual users. PressurePro monitors tire pressure constantly, whether a vehicle is parked or moving. By integrating with advanced communications capabilities (telematics) via RS232, J1708 and J1939, PressurePro has become one of the first TPMS providers to allow remote reporting functionality. PressurePro’s technology allows for total integration, providing tire pressure monitoring and alerts with most of today’s leading Telematics products.
THE CAUSE:

The Department of Transportation estimates that 37% of all tires on American roadways are under-inflated.

THE EFFECTS:

Under-inflated tires waste over 5.4 million gallons of fuel everyday (over 2 billion gallons each year) in the U.S. alone.

Low tire pressure is the #1 cause of tire failure and contributes to tire disintegration, heat buildup, ply separation and sidewall/casing breakdowns.

The DOT estimates that tires running properly inflated could eliminate 250 lbs. of greenhouse gas emissions per vehicle per year, or more than 57.5 Billion Pounds of Carbon Monoxide pollutants each year.

Under-inflated tires lead to tread separation and tire failure resulting in 40,000 accidents, 33,000 injuries, and over 650 deaths.

A difference of 10 psi in air pressure between a set of duals, literally drags the lower pressured tire 13 feet per mile.

Under-inflated tires decrease a vehicle’s average MPG by as much as 3.3%.

ADDITIONAL FACTS:

Heat buildup – Heat is one of the leading causes of tire failure. Low tire pressure leads to excessive heat buildup in the tire.

Fuel economy – Under-inflated tires waste over 5 million gallons of fuel each day or approximately 2 billion gallons per year in the U.S. alone.

Convenience/Safety/Savings –L&S’s PressurePro is quick, easy to use and install (no tools required). Also, it alleviates the time and effort of checking tire pressures manually.

Protection – PressurePro can alert to low pressure when you need it most: when on the road at highway speeds (and possibly in remote areas) where a tire problem could be costly & dangerous.

Savings – Properly inflated tires last longer. The Tire Industry Safety Council estimates that 50-80% of the 500 million tires being used in the U.S. are under-inflated. How about yours?

Under-inflation is the major cause of over-heating, and contributes to:

tire disintegration

ply separation

sidewall/tread breakdowns

poor tread life

premature tire failure

excessive fuel use

decreased road safety

THE SOLUTION:

PressurePro TPM Systems give you the information you need to maintain properly inflated tires, which result in significant savings and safety!

Breakdown! The 2nd most common cause of tire failures accounts for 26% of commercial vehicle breakdowns. Only about 15% of tire-induced breakdowns are due to sudden tire damage; the remaining 85% start with slow leaks. However, drivers usually notice this gradual air loss too late, and more serious consequences arise.

PressurePro identifies these slow leaks and warns the driver in time–before the tire risks irreversible damage. In most cases, PressurePro will pay for itself on the very first occasion a puncture is detected, and prevents further major costs or downtime. It can also be integrated into telematics and fleet management systems to enable remote tire pressure checks on fleets from the main headquarters.

Smooth running tires assure peace of mind for drivers and passengers. The PressurePro tire pressure monitoring system offers constantly monitoring of tire pressures every 7 seconds on the tractor, trailer, coach, bus etc.

A study of vehicle fleets has shown that every second commercial vehicle tire is driven at more than 10% under the correct inflation pressure. This results in increased rolling resistance, leading to higher fuel consumption. In fact, under-inflated tires decrease a vehicle’s average MPG by as much as 3.3%!
