Markets for TPMS

The current prospective TPMS markets we see with high-growth potential are:

Mining/Heavy Construction & Ports

Construction & Waste

Tanker Fleets

Reefer Fleets

Utilities & Delivery

Mining/Heavy Construction & Ports - In markets across the globe, we are seeing strong interest from the heavy equipment marketplace. Ports operate multiple types of vehicles from cranes to lifts to movers that need to be running reliably in a tough environment. Mining is a strong market worldwide, and there is a high need in these harsh environments for expensive tires to haul high-weight loads.

PressurePro TPMS is proving to be a very viable tool for OTR fleets, capable of saving them time and money and adding efficiency. The biggest need in this market is simply keeping vehicles up and running. If these trucks aren’t running, mining fleets aren’t processing raw materials and are losing money. In a market where tires are extremely expensive and hard to purchase, they have to be protected. Safety and labor are other areas that we help firms control expense. Constant monitoring of a hazardous job saves time and helps to reduce potential liability problems.

Construction & Waste – Both are strong markets, from concrete trucks to dumps in construction to waste vehicles. The construction market is regrouping and seeing decent growth.

Tanker Fleets – With all the new drilling going on in the West, Southwest, Northwest and Midwest parts of the country, tanker sales are strong and the market segment is prime for PressurePro tire pressure monitoring. They have a strong need to be efficient and to save fuel and tires, but safety is important in this market as well, due to huge risks from handling dangerous freight.

Reefer Fleets – New visibility for food products is requiring much greater scrutiny of food shipments to ensure safe food to the public. Reefer fleets are moving to more trailer tracking so they know where the load is, food temperatures, vehicle systems and more. All information is passed on to an office-based management system so food can be monitored from production to the customer. Adding TPMS is a simple and effective way to save money on fuel, tires, labor, time and roadside issues.

Utilities & Delivery - These are Class 3 type vehicles such as gas tankers, repair vehicles and more. Class 3, 4, 5 and 6 present the largest commercial market, some 666 million vehicles.

To L&S Safety Solutions – Appreciation:

I wanted to take a moment to express my appreciation to your company on your product. As you are aware, we recently equipped our entire fleet with Pressure Pro after testing for over 6 months. Besides the personal service and involvement (well above what we normally see), installing the product was surprisingly quick and simple for maintenance. Speaking only from the point of the trucking industry, it is refreshing to find not only a product that works as well as Pressure Pro and does what it represented it would do, but to deal with a professional group we can count on.

One item your system addresses inadvertenly for us is driver satsifaction. We have received nothing but positive feedback from all of our drivers and it has been a tremendous recruting tool for us in getting and retaining drivers. We’ve installed a number of products on our trucks for assisting drivers while driving down our costs but our drivers understand the value of your product to their safety and getting home at night and on time.

While I understand Pressure Pro addresses several issues for us regarding tire wear, easing wear (retreads) and increased MPG by reducing rolling friction, I am most concerned with safety, reducing our liability on the road, maintaining on-time schedules and avoiding costly roadside repairs. PressurePro allows us to operate at a higher level of safety by providing “real-time” tire pressure data to our drivers while on the road and this is of the utmost important. We are interested in working with PressurePro to provide their display monitor to feed this information to our Data Acquisition system and communicate information back to our offices for even greater scrutiny of our vehicles.

As we discussed, I was concerned with durability of the sensor on large tires, at nearly constant high speeds in all types of weather and road conditions, parked in chuck holes full of water, coated with mud and withstanding hits by road debris. The sensors have proven reliable and tough as you said they would. I’ve come to find that the value your system brings us overshadows the concern I had with the loss of a few sensors from time to time. I’m finding the system pays for itself in a short time and continues to add to that savings. One of the considerations that’s hard to put a value on is the reliabilty PressurePro has added for us. Our customers operate JIT and Wal-Mart is very demanding on being punctual. If a truck is down and misses its load/unload time, my truck will be sitting there for hours out of commission and costing us.

If I can be of assistance to you or answer any questions for your customers I would be more than willing to do so.

Best Regards,

L&S Safety Solutions Announces

Updated Sensor Seal Technology

The leaders in TPMS Technology announce advanced product Sensor Seals for trucks and fleets

Wickenburg, AZ: May 1, 2013: L&S Safety Solutions, the North American Distributor for PressurePro tire pressure monitoring systems, continues to advance TPMS technology and offerings with the latest release of updated Sensor Seals. PressurePro can monitor up to 34 wheel positions, and up to 64 positions for fleets – 16 on the truck and 16 per trailer on up to three trailers. Small tire Sensors replace the valve stem caps and report to a dash-mounted Monitor which displays tire pressures for each wheel location.

“In the ongoing search to improve our products, PressurePro is pleased to announce the development of a new Sensor Seal,” stated Duane Sprague, CEO of L&S Safety Solutions. New technology has been utilized to review the stresses put upon the seal in a vast array of environments, and enhancements have been made to the seal to ensure that fleet owners continue to have the most reliable, durable and accurate TPMS product available.

PressurePro’s new valve seal solution uses a 2-piece seal system. The first piece is a hard plastic depressor that rests on a surface just below the threads of the Sensor. This new plastic depressor has been designed to the optimum length to more fully depress the valve, and provides a hard stop during installation, preventing over tightening of the Sensor against the rubber sealing surface and thus preventing damage to the seal. A simple rubber O-ring is pushed into place over the plastic depressor and can endure repeated loosening and installation of tire Sensors.

PressurePro also allows fully automated monitoring for drop and hook applications, and is proud of its record of reliability and value. As one of the only TPMS products developed and manufactured in the USA, PressurePro strives to maintain a stringent research and development commitment, and to continue to push the entire TPMS market into the next generation.

About L&S Safety Solutions, LLC: As the leading aftermarket TPMS system worldwide, PressurePro has been involved in the industry since 1991 and is renowned as a pioneer in the marketplace. As the only TPMS provider to offer numerous advanced monitoring options, PressurePro was the first TPMS Company to add communications capabilities across their product line, bringing to life remote monitoring options alongside of the world’s leading Telematics products. PressurePro also remains the only TPMS provider to offer fully automated drop-and-hook applications and data logging abilities for fleets. For further information, visit PressurePro online at www.tirepressuremonitor.com.

Be alerted of a low pressure tire BEFORE it goes flat! The safety aspects of using a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) are noteworthy, especially with regard to waste management operations.

A low-pressure tire will eventually overheat, causing premature tire failure and possibly even a fire or significant vehicle damage. Drivers will experience less downtime and significant cost savings by being alerted of a problem tire when the tire starts to lose air. Blow-outs are typically the result of a nail being picked up perhaps the day before and the tire eventually overheats, resulting in eventual tire failure.

The PressurePro tire pressure monitoring system can help extend tire life, cut maintenance and add savings. By providing a reliable, durable, accurate and easy to use product that relays real-time tire pressure readings both in-cab and remote, the system can help your fleet run more efficiently. Pioneers in TPMS technology since 1991, PressurePro remains the worldwide leader, and the answer for adding to your bottom line profits.

Low tire pressure is the leading cause of premature tire failure. PressurePro can provide early notice of potential problems before the tires goes flat and disintegrates by displaying current tire pressures on demand, whether moving or stationary.

Important Facts:

The average lifespan of most tires on refuse trucks is under 6,000 miles, making tires and tire-realted maintenance one of a fleet’s top expenses.

Low-tire pressures lead to casing damage that causes tire failure, zipper rips and blowouts.

Heat is one of the leading causes of tire failure. Frequent stops, as is the case with refuse trucks, contribute to heat buildup.

Under-inflation is another major cause of overheating which contributes to ply separation, tire disintegration, sidewall/tread breakdowns and excessive fuel use.

Under-inflated tires waste more than 5 million gallons of fuel each day or approximatley 2 billion gallons per year in the U.S. alone.

Be alerted to low tire pressure when you need it most: when on the road, and in busy traffic onditions where a tire problem could be costly and also dangerous.

PressurePro is a wireless, electronic tire pressure monitoring system, is capable of displaying current tire pressures on demand, whether moving or stationary, and is having significant impact on waste management methods. Externally mounted tire Sensors are quick, easy to use and install (no tools required), and alleviate the time and effort of checking tire pressures manually. Its alert functions are noted for having significant impact on waste management vehicles’ reduction of bottom-line tire involvement cost numbers as well as for the trucking industry in general.

The Truck/Refuse Truck Monitor can monitor up to 34 wheel positions (including 3 trailers) and tire pressures up to 199 psi. However, only the number of wheels to be monitored (such as 10 tires on refuse trucks) will show on the Monitor. Known for quick and simple installation, PressurePro can easily be transferred between vehicles without any programming changes to accurately measure tire pressures at the touch of a button from inside the cab.

The Monitors have RS232 capability and can also display temperature when used with tire management software programs via being integrated to maintenance systems with standard RS232 and J1708 capabilities. PressurePro offers a “voice” for your fleet that can be seen by your drivers, as well as communicated to your fleet’s management software. Therefore, whether management wants to know the idle time, fuel use or even if a vehicle’s front driver’s side tire is low—when it is real-time low in inflation, PressurePro, integrated with telematics systems, will assist you!

Every Monitor also offers data logging capability, for approximately 90 days of past pressure and alert history information, including free software to augment its down-load to a computer, at no extra cost. This information can serve as a good augmentation to management’s detective efforts to cause more conscientious driver awareness for helping stop needless tire replacements.

The PressurePro system can greatly simplify the tire maintenance process resulting in an overall reduction of vehicle operating costs and more effective tire pressure maintenance.

Safety Aspects: Externally mounted tire pressure Sensors are quick, easy to use and install (no tools required), and alleviate the time and effort of checking tire pressures manually. Be safer and save money with properly inflated tires! Be alerted before critical damage occurs.

PressurePro – for peace of mind.

Cut your gas costs!

To boost your gas mileage, a wise investment would be to buy a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS). Some newer vehicles already have a TPMS, but most others, like RVs and trucks do not.

One in four cars are driving around on underinflated tires, and for every pound-per-square-inch drop in pressure of a vehicle with, for instance, four tires, fuel economy declines by three percent. Imagine how much one could save if they had 10 or 12 tires for an RV and towed vehicle–or for an 18 or even a 34-wheel truck/trailer combination!

No need to use an inaccurate pressure guage when you can check your tire pressures at the press of a button from inside the cab area! There are two types of tire pressure monitoring systems: one which uses internal Sensors requiring having to pay someone to break down each tire and then install the Sensors; and another type using externally mounted Sensors which are easily self-installed.

The PressurePro small external Tire Sensors replace the valve stem caps, and the Monitor attaches to the dash area via Velcro. One can power the Monitor by using a cigarette lighter power cord, or the Monitor can also be hard wired.

With a TPMS, you can have peace of mind, knowing that you will be alerted when you start to lose pressure and before you have a flat tire (which can sometimes result in a blow-out if not attended to).

So lower your gas costs by checking your tires at least once a month and topping them off to the correct pressure; it is estimated that you could save over $130 a year in fuel costs. And in addition to being safer, your tires will last longer, saving you additional monies.

Note: Instead of looking for the recommended tire pressure on the tire itself, you can also find the recommended pressure for your particular vehicle on the driver’s door-jamb.

PressurePro TPMS for peace of mind.

Proud to be made in the USA.

2013 World Ag Show

We recently attended the 2013 World Ag Expo presented by the International Agri-Center in Tulare, CA as a PressurePro TPMS exhibitor. The number of huge agriculture/farm equipment displays were indeed awsome!

This super-sized event was comprised of exhibitor booths in two large tents as well as a 60,000 sq. ft. insulated steel building, and also acres of outside displays exhibiting various types of farm equipment, tractor offerings, tires of all sizes, pumps, hydro systems, irrigation systems, cultivator systems and more.

The world’s largest annual agricultural expositon in the United States was comprised of 2.6 million square feet of exhibit space. The Ag Expo exhibits the latest in products, equipment and services for the agriculture industry.

The need for PressurePro tire pressure monitoring was evident. Some tires cost thousands of dollars! Being alerted BEFORE a tire goes flat can help save money, fuel, tires and time by:

helping to avoid excessive fuel consumption caused by under inflation

assisting in avoiding excessive tire wear and casing damage caused by under inflation

improving stability, handling, braking and performance

saving money and adding safety by providing timely alerts to low tire pressure problems before critical damage occurs

PressurePro has been a worldwide leader in tire pressure monitoring since 1991 and can provide complete fleet maintenance solutions by providing both in-cab and remote pressure readings, giving your vehicles a “voice” that can be heard by your drivers or even communicated to your home office-based management system.

Important Facts:

37% of all tires on American roadways are under-inflated, per the Department of Transportation.

Over 2 billion gallons of fuel each year are under inflated in the U.S. alone.

Tires running properly inflated could eliminate 250 lbs. of green house gas emissions per vehicle per year, per the DOT.

Under inflated tires lead to tread separation and tire failure.

A vehicle’s average MPG can decrease by as much as 3.3% if tires are under inflated.

PressurePro gives one the information needed to provide big additions to savings and safety!

This Ag show is definitely worthwhile attending since it covers all aspects of agriculture, farm equipment and accessories. The next scheduled event is the Conexpo-Con/Agg show in Las Vegas, NV which is March 4-8, 2014.

Global Report

A comprehensive Global Report on Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS) has just been released. The market, driven by a resurgence in the automotive industry as well as stringent legislations focusing on road safety measures, is projected to reach $3 billion by the year 2017. Fuel efficiency, product innovation, growing popularity of run-flat tires, and differentiation strategies adopted by manufacturers are expected to drive future gains in the marketplace.

The US represents the largest regional market as stated by the latest market research report on tire pressure monitoring systems. Regulations mandate the use of direct TPMS vs indirect, as indirect has been ineffective in sending out timely alerts. Direct TPMS dominates the market supported largely by legislation mandating direct TPMS such as the US made PressurePro monitoring system.

It has been determined that TPMS is a market driven largely by legislations. Over the last decade, governments around the world have focused on legislating active road safety measures. While in Europe TPMS legislations are driven by fuel efficiency benefits and reduction of CO2 emissions, in the United States the legislation is solely driven by safety issues triggered by the massive recall of tires due to tread separation in the year 2000.

Automotive safety technologies are rising in popularity due to the rise in automobile accidents due to errors in judgment made by the driver, and also by mechanical failures caused by poor tire maintenance.

The recent economic recession has temporarily held back growth in the global tire pressure monitoring systems marketplace. Aftermarket electronic installations especially have been impacted due to higher employment rates and lower consumer income. However, legislations in the US that make integration of TPMS mandatory in all cars have and will continue to drive growth.

Interest and growth is also taking place in the trucking and RV marketplaces since checking ones tires can be made from inside the cab or RV by the press of a button. The driver can be alerted of a low or high-pressure tire before significant damage has occurred. And fixing a tire is less costly than replacing one.

Innovative product development efforts are mostly geared towards achieving low operating and maintenance costs as well as more accurate reliable monitoring of tire pressures. Measurement of pressure, temperature and torque are additional benefits including complete data analysis which is rising in popularity.

A comprehensive review of market trends, drivers, company profiles and key strategic industry activities is available in a report titled “Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS): A Global Strategic Business Report”. The report analyzes the global market for major geographic markets.

Durable

Your best choice: The system has been tested in all types of weather conditions, and has been shocked/dropped tested to prove its durability.

Accurate

The tire Sensors, which replace the valve-stem caps, accurately (usually within +/- 0.5 psi) assess the air pressure in each tire 12,343 times every day, and also send an update to the Monitor every five minutes 24/7!

The PressurePro Tire Sensors immediately transmit accurate low-pressure readings and alerts when they occur.

When the Sensor’s automatically set trigger pressure set points are breached for either a -12 1/2% low, and again at -25% low, or at a +24% (variable/adjustable) rise in tire pressure, the Monitor emits an audible alert, identifies the problem tire’s location via a flashing light, and shows the real-time pressure of the tire.

Horse Trailer Tire Safety

When trailering horses, the condition of your tires is of prime concern. Having a horse trailer tire monitor makes it easy to check your tires, even while driving down the road! Underinflated tires can lead to a blow-out if not attended to in the early stages. And many tires disintegrate due to under-inflation which leads to excessive stress on the tire walls. A tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) can cut downtime, extend tire life, improve performance, increase safety, and also reduce maintenance.

The easiest way to check your tires and be assured that you have the proper horse trailer tire pressure in those tires is to have a tire pressure monitoring system. Note that under-inflated tires run hotter than properly inflated tires; it’s better to err with too much air in your tires rather than too little. And tires running low on pressure require more fuel to overcome rolling resistance. With today’s prices of fuel, it’s even more important to have your tires properly inflated. Underinflated tires can decrease a vehicle’s average MPG by as much as 3.3%!

The horse trailer truck tire monitor is usually mounted in the dash area of the vehicle, and tire Sensors replace the valve stem caps. The tire Sensors can be mounted on both the truck and the horse trailer, or just on the trailer.

Reasons to keep your tires properly inflated:

•Added vehicle safety

    • Accuracy/reliability

        • Enhanced vehicle performance

            • Increased tire and tread life

                • Reduced fuel costs

How to check tire pressure

on a horse trailer with an “external” PressurePro TPMS:

On the dash-mounted Monitor, arrow over to the location of the tire.

The Monitor will display the pressure of that tire.

To check another tire, press the arrow button and read the next tire, etc.

You’re done! No need to go outside in inclement weather and get one knee dirty even!

If you need more air, or want less air, simply remove the tire Sensor which replaces the valve-stem cap, adjust your tire pressure, and put the Sensor back on. The Monitor will display the new pressure.

Safety traveling tips for horse owners:

Buy a tire pressure monitoring system

Install a tire pressure monitoring system

Check your tires easily via the tire pressure monitoring system

Be assured that you will be warned ahead of time of a low-pressure tire

Relax and enjoy your trip!

Types of TPMS Systems

Some tire pressure monitoring systems require breaking down the tire to install Sensors inside each tire, while others are external, and are installed by merely replacing the valve stem cap with a tire Sensor. Most now offer low pressure alerts in addition to variable high pressure alerts; some even offer signal strength diagnostics.

Also, it’s important to some that the TPMS they buy is developed and manufactured in the USA rather than abroad; many are manufactured in China.

Horse owners should check the tire pressure of all tires before each trip, including the spare tire; having a tire monitoring system makes checking tires much easier, as one simply checks tire pressures by pressing a button on the dash-mounted monitor.

Note that even a correctly inflated tire can fail, if overloaded. Overloading any tire is extremely dangerous, and can cause tire failure, as well as failure of any suspension component.

Optimal Benefits of a Pressure Pro TPMS

Improved Fuel Economy

Audible and visual alerting

Check pressures even when parked

External systems are easy to self-install

Tire Sensors simply replace the valve stem caps

Monitors truck and towed vehicle tire pressures

Some systems monitor up to 34 tire positions

No wiring required; reliable FM signal reception

View current tire pressures any time with the touch of a button

Increase safety by having properly inflated tires appropriate for the load

Enhanced vehicle performance; tires with low air pressures require greater stopping distances and cause deterioration in tire performance.

Dual Tires

A TPMS can give you the information you need to maintain properly inflated tires which in turn, can result in significant savings and safety. Inside duals are often neglected which could be detrimental, as checking air pressures of the inside tires is an absolute necessity. An outside tire can be supporting an inside tire that is going flat, making the low-pressure tire hard to spot. Therefore the outer tire would experience added stress and pressure, causing permanent damage. This could result in a tire overheating and rupturing; if the tire is a retread, there is the possibility of tread releasing from the casing which could even lead to a highway accident.

Having a tire pressure monitoring system will help to avoid under inflation and will extend tire life, as well as to save fuel, time and $$$. Low tire pressure is the Number One cause of tire failure and contributes to heat buildup, tire disintegration, ply separation and sidewall/casing breakdowns.

PressurePro is a wireless electronic tire pressure monitoring system designed to monitor and display tire pressures. The system is capable of displaying current tire pressures on demand, whether moving or stationary.

The dash-mounted Monitor displays each tire’s pressure and can send an audible and visual alert if your pressures drop. Small tire Sensors screw onto the valve stems of your tires, replacing the valve-stem caps, and transmit a coded RF signal.

PressurePro Features:

PressurePro is the world-wide leader in developing the TPMS marketplace and technology since 1991, providing drivers with continuous tire pressure readings whether a truck or trailer is parked or moving. The dash-mount Monitors come set from the factory to read in psi, but can also read in BAR and kPa. PressurePro can also display temperature measurements.

PressurePro systems alert at three pressure thresholds: two alerts at a low-pressure reading, and one at a high pressure reading. The first low-pressure alert occurs when tire pressures drop more than 12.5%, and a second alert occurs when tire pressures drop by more than 25%. A variable high pressure alert also occurs at the level set by the user.

Tire Sensors merely replace the valve stem caps; the dash-mounted Monitor comes with Velcro and can be hard-wired or can plug into the cigarette lighter receptacle. A 3 ½” antenna is standard, but horse trailers should also use the optional Cabled Antenna Kit for better reception.

PressurePro Benefits:

Easy to self-install

Alerts driver with both visual and auditory warnings

Capable of monitoring both the towing vehicle and a trailer

Alerts when tire pressure is high or low, specifies which tire, and what the actual pressures are

For use with RVs, trucks, horse trailers, autos, tractor/trailers, buses, heavy industrial equipment, etc.

designed, developed and manufactured
in the USA
